In France, I took many photos in Monet’s Garden in Giverny. It was fun to discover the bees I captured when enlarging the pictures; there was so much activity and color amongst my close-up photos. How could I not be inspired to share the place where Monet created his beautiful garden paintings? This is painted in gouache on 4×4 aqua board, which brings out vivid colors of the petals in contrast to the black and yellow of the bee nestled on top of the flower. It is framed in a 6×6 float frame and sprayed with archival fixative.
