This artwork is inspired by a vintage stamp from my grandfather’s collection, specifically the “Reine des Abielles,” which translates to Queen Bee. This legal stamp hails from 19th-century France. In creating this piece, I sculpted the bee from polymer clay, giving the impression that she is emerging from the center of the stamp. The design features the stamp drawn in ink alongside a collage of the actual stamp itself. Three images of the stamp are incorporated into the work, which is elegantly framed in a metal frame with plexiglass, making it ready for display. Mixed Media: Polymer Clay, Ink, Watercolor, and Collage
